The Buckskin B2B Phase 2 Fiber Project is in multiple phases of construction. We have some crews out plowing fiber lines, some locations are getting spliced, and some locations are ready for installations. Our team will notify you when your home or business is ready for installation! We will be breaking ground on Phase 2 of the Buckskin Fiber Optic Grant Project in the spring of 2025. To be as efficient as possible, we have started scheduling site visits. Our construction season depends on the weather here in rural Douglas County. Once the ground thaws, we start our fiber-optic construction season. June 28, 2023 Update:
Today the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development announced the 2023 Border to Border (B2B) Grant recipients and we are pleased to share we are one of them!
The “Buckskin” project will serve 214 unserved households, home based businesses and telecommuters with fiber-optic internet speeds up to 1 Gbps download and 1 Gpbs upload. These speeds will exceed the Minnesota 2023 state speed goal. This project will enhance the quality of life for these Douglas County residents for years to come.
