WHAT IS DIALUP ACCELERATION?
Dial acceleration offers a way to extend the capabilities of Dial-up Internet access. Accelerators compress images and Web pages so they can load faster. The accelerator allows users to select the level of image compression, enabling them to customize their surfing experience. If the user sets the level too high, yielding a fuzzy image, the accelerator allows for quick adjustment.
The compression technology extends to e-mail attachments, and we have integrated with the service a pop-up blocker and a banner ad remover.
In addition to faster-loading pages, users can gain privacy by requesting Web pages via the accelerated proxy server. With the Internet Accelerator, the request to access the Web page no longer comes from the user's machine, and the IP address is not displayed or captured.
Note: Compression technology does not accelerate all sites—or all online activities. Secure sites, such as those used for online banking, some Webmail applications or sites served from “https://” do not receive the benefits of compression for privacy reasons.
